We are a family-owned and operated boutique hotel situated in the heart of Torquay on the English Riviera in South Devon, UK.  We pride ourselves on providing one of the best B&B experiences in and around Torquay - and with our exceptional Booking.com rating, we are considered to be in the top 5% of guesthouse/hotel accommodation in the area!

In addition to being a hotel, we have uniquely intimate, Art Deco-style event facilities available for hire.  This is a large property with spacious and flexible areas suitable for many occasions:

    This guesthouse is easy to find and well located for the centre of town. Russell and Caroline couldn’t have done anything to make our stay more comfortable. The room is well equipped and there was even a Bluetooth speaker mirror in the bathroom! There was a well-stocked fridge with complimentary drinks and snacks. 

    We attended for an evening event and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The breakfast room is a delightful, sun-filled room and there was everything you could possibly want. We had poached eggs, bacon and avocado and it was amazing. Russell and Caroline are excellent hosts. I’d have no hesitation in returning."

  • What an Exceptional Hotel...

    "What an exceptional hotel. We went for a jazz night and were so impressed with the fabulous art deco style lounge and bar and the pristine cleanliness that we decided to stay the night even though we live in Torbay. 


    Our room was very tastefully furnished and the lovely family who own the hotel had thought of everything you would need for your stay - from small bottles of wine, water and milk in the fridge to toothbrushes, a shaving kit and sanitary products in the bathroom. We will definitely stay again."

There's always something going on in or around Gresham Court. Torquay is a lively resort with its own unique climate - often likened to the Mediterranean.  Hence it is known as the 'English Riviera'. With so much beautiful scenery and heritage in this part of Devon, you'll never be short of something to do or places to visit.

  • Agatha Christie Exhibition

    Agatha Christie is one of the world’s most famous and prolific writers.  She was born right here in Torquay in 1890 and lived here until 1922.  Agatha wrote 75 novels and 14 short stories and has earned the title "Queen of Crime" -  because 66 of those novels are detective fiction!

    Agatha Christie is celebrated in many ways here in Torquay, not least with a week-long International Agatha Christie Festival which happens across Torbay every September.  At Gresham Court we are incredibly fortunate to be located just a few steps away from Torquay Museum which is the permanent home to one of the world’s most extensive exhibitions of Agatha Christie artifacts and memorabilia.
